Privacy Statement

This statement explains what happens to your information when you use blackpool.ie. It is written to describe what this website actually does, rather than to cover every eventuality.

The short version: this is an information website. You cannot buy anything here, there is no account to create, and we do not track you. For most visits we collect nothing beyond what any web server records in order to serve a page.

Who is responsible for your information

Blackpool Shopping Centre is operated by Blackpool Management Ltd, a company registered in Ireland, company number 324786. Blackpool Management Ltd is the data controller for the information described here.

Registered address: C/o Bannon Commercial Property Consultants Ltd, Hambledon House, 19–26 Pembroke Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 WV96, Ireland. To write to us about anything on this page, use the centre instead: Blackpool Shopping Centre, Blackpool, Cork.

If you have a question about this statement or about your information, contact us at Show email address or +353 (0)21 439 1308.

When you browse this website

Our web host records standard technical information each time a page is requested — your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type. This happens automatically and is how any website works. It is used to keep the site running and secure, and to investigate faults or abuse.

This website is hosted by Flywheel, who keep those technical records on our behalf.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

WordPress, the software behind the site, sets cookies only for staff who sign in to edit it. Those cookies keep them signed in and are of no relevance to visitors.

Our Cookie Policy covers this in more detail.

The map on our Parking page

Our Parking & Getting Here page shows a map provided by OpenStreetMap. When that map loads, your browser contacts openstreetmap.org directly, and your IP address is visible to them as a result. We do not send them anything else, and they are not acting on our behalf.

You can read the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

When you contact us

If you email us, telephone us, or use the form on our Get in Touch page, we keep what you send so we can answer you. We use it for that purpose and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
  • We do not use advertising or social media tracking pixels.
  • We do not build profiles of visitors or make automated decisions about you.
  • This website does not accept comments or registrations.

Who else sees your information

Our web host and our IT suppliers may handle it in the course of running the site for us. They act on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

CCTV and the car parks

The centre and its car parks are monitored by CCTV. The cameras are operated by Blackpool Management Ltd to keep visitors and staff safe, to protect property, and to look into incidents when they happen.

All three car parks — A and B at the Shopping Centre, and the Retail Park car park including the multi-storey — use automatic number plate recognition at their entrances and exits. The system is operated by Blackpool Management Ltd. It reads your registration and records when you arrive and leave, which is how we understand how the car parks are being used. A registration number counts as personal data, so it is covered by this statement and by the rights set out below.

Parking is free. There is no ticket and no charge, no payment details are taken, and no parking notice, penalty or charge arises from anything the cameras record.

We keep CCTV footage and number plate records only for as long as we need them for the purposes described above. How long that is depends on the kind of record, on whether it is needed for an incident, an insurance claim or a legal claim, and on any period the law requires us to keep it for. Once a record is no longer needed for any of those reasons, it is deleted.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:

  • ask what information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • ask us to erase information, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on your consent;
  • receive information you gave us in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email Show email address. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963 — dataprotection.ie.

Children

This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
